HYDE PARK — A new klezmer opera commissioned by the Lyric Opera will premiere in Hyde Park on Wednesday night.

“The Property,” a new opera by 28-year-old Los Angeles-based Wlad Marhulets, will open at 7:30 p.m Wednesday at the Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St.

Mezzo-soprano Jill Grove and soprano Anne Slovin will be backed by the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band.

The opera will be performed at the Logan Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday before moving to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in suburban Skokie.
