ROSCOE VILLAGE — Illinois legislators are thinking green, and energy policies they're exploring statewide could also have applications inside your home.
State representatives Sara Feigenholtz (D-12th) and Ann Williams (D-11th) are hosting an energy forum from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday with speakers scheduled to talk about ways Illinois can move toward a cleaner, more affordable energy economy.
Presenters will also offer tips on ways you can use renewables in your home and become more energy efficient.
Small steps like planting a tree near your air conditioner or drying towels and heavy cottons separately from lighter materials can make a big difference.
Saturday's forum will be held at Audubon Elementary, 3500 N. Hoyne Ave. RSVP online at ilenviro.org/energyforum.
