Robie House Looking for Volunteers to Lead Tours

HYDE PARK — Those hoping to land a spot as a volunteer at the Robie House before it gets a named a UNESCO World Heritage site can sign up now for spring training sessions.

Enrollment opened Thursday for training to lead tours in the Robie House, 5757 S. Woodlawn Ave., and other Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes.

The training sessions will be held in March and April with the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust.

Training for the Robie House will be at the museum on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and two Saturdays between March 10-26.

The Robie House and nine other Wright buildings were nominated on Feb. 1 for UNESCO World Heritage sites.

A decision by the United Nations on the designation is expected in 2016.
