

IRVING PARK — Issues related to social justice and racial equity will be the focus of a joint forum for aldermanic candidates in the 33rd and 35th wards hosted Thursday by Communities United.
Community members will quiz candidates on their positions regarding education, affordable housing, immigration service access and more, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Murphy Elementary School, 3539 W. Grace St.
Candidates Tim Meegan and Annisa Wanat are confirmed from the 33rd Ward, with Ald. Deb Mell invited. Ald. Rey Colon and Carlos Rosa are confirmed from the 35th Ward.
Chicago's municipal elections are scheduled for Feb. 24. If none of the three candidates in the 33rd Ward receives 50 percent of the vote, a run-off will be held April 7.
Early voting is already underway at various sites across the city.
