NORTH CENTER — Incumbent Ameya Pawar and challenger Rory Fiedler will discuss their visions for the 47th Ward at an aldermanic candidate forum scheduled for Feb. 11.

Pawar is in his first bid for re-election, having won the seat in 2011 with 50.8 percent of the vote following the retirement of long-time 47th Ward Ald. Eugene Schulter.

A self-described lifelong resident of the ward, Fiedler is an alum of Queen of Angels and Lane Tech and lists experience in customer service, design, property management, rehabilitation and development.

The forum will be held at 7 p.m. at Bell Elementary, 3730 N. Oakley Ave. Ben Joravsky, political columnist for the Chicago Reader, will moderate.

Have a question for the candidates? Send it to info@northcenterneighborhood.org by Feb. 9.

Chicago municipal elections will be held Feb. 24. In races where no candidate earns 50 percent of the votes cast, a runoff between the top two candidates will take place April 7.
