CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead a week after being shot in Lawndale, police said.

Around 5:25 p.m. Jan. 23, Abraham Burgo was in his car in the 1500 block of South Trumbull Avenue when someone shot him in the back of the neck, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The block where Burgo was found is known for drug sales and Burgo was a documented gang member, Estrada said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in critical condition, Estrada said.

Burgo, of Bolingbrook, was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
