WICKER PARK — Twenty-five Wicker Park and Bucktown restaurants will offer adventurous diners a chance to eat their way through the popular neighborhood by tasting small bites and appetizers along a chosen route.
Scheduled for 6-9 p.m. on Sept. 26, the 6th annual fall dinner crawl is divided into "fork," "knife" "and spoon" routes, with two of the journeys featuring eight stops. The third route, on Milwaukee Avenue and Division Street, offers eight participating restaurants and one candy shop.
According to organizers at the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, tickets are $30 per person for each route through Sunday, Sept. 17, after which they will be sold for $45 per person through September 25, and $55 the day of the crawl, if any remain.
This year's edition of the popular event — which has sold out in past years — features newcomers such as Publican Anker, 1576 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Pork & Mindy's, 1623 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Devil Dawgs, 1431 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Rhyme or Reason, 1938 W. Division St.; The Royal Grocer & Co., 2118 N. Damen Ave.; and more.
The routes also include standby spots that have been open for many years, such as The Smoke Daddy and Club Lucky, and newer places like Fonda Frontera.
All of the menus are subject to change; check out the current offerings for each route.
Participating restaurants include: The Bristol, Dove’s Luncheonette, Fonda Frontera, Club Lucky, Publican Anker, Trench, The Stop Along, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, Urban Icing, The Smoke Daddy, Ryhme or Reason, David’s Tea, The Royal Grocer & Co., The Goddess and Grocer, Urbanbelly, Taus Authentic, Candyality, Antique Taco, Umami Burger, Rumi Middle Eastern, Pork and Mindys, Big and Little’s, Fatpour Tap Works, Devil Dawgs and Fifolet Cajun & Cocktails.
