CHICAGO — The Super Bowl Sunday Blizzard that could drop 18 inches of snow on northern Illinois is knotting up air traffic, with hundreds flights delayed and canceled at the city's airports.

The city's Aviation Department, as of 3:30 p.m., reported more than 1,300 canceled flights at O'Hare Airport, and said the airport was working at a reduced schedule. The airport is experiencing delays of 45 minutes or more for inbound and outbound flights.

At Midway, also on a reduced schedule, more than 300 flights have been canceled. Delays at Midway are minimal due to the large number of cancelations, the Aviation Department said.

Passengers and those picking up loved ones should consult their airlines' websites for updated travel information.
