Police Warn of Burglaries in Lincoln Park, Lakeview

CHICAGO — Two recent burglaries on the North Side have led police to issue a community alert, warning residents.

In the incidents, which took place in Lincoln Park and Lakeview, burglars break into homes through the rear doors. In an incident on Jan. 14, three people entered a home in the 1000 block of West Altgeld Street about 2:50 p.m., breaking into the rear doors from the alley.

One suspect was described as being 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, 170 to 210 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a ¾ length jacket, gray Adidas gym shoes with a white stripe. Another was described as being 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, 190 to 220 pounds, wearing a baseball hat with white cursive writing on the front.

The second incident occurred on Jan. 222 at about 3:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Greenview Avenue, police said.
