HYDE PARK — Cornel West will revive the radical democratic socialist view of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. during a Feb. 1 visit to the University of Chicago.

West’s new book, “The Radical King,” collects 21 selections of King’s speeches and writing that West feels underscores an image of the civil rights crusader as a champion of the poor, staunchly anti-war and a crusader against global imperialism.

West will speak at 2 p.m. at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, 5850 S. Woodlawn Ave.
