CHICAGO — A teen is facing charges after allegedly robbing two women of their cellphones on Red Line trains in separate incidents.

The incidents happened on Dec. 28 at 2:15 a.m. and again on Jan. 14 in the 4600 block of North Broadway, at the Wilson Red Line stop. In both robberies, the phone was forcibly taken from the women's hands, police said.

Surveillance video was released to media, which helped police identify the teen. The 17-year-old boy, who lives in Uptown, faces two felony charges of robbery and is expected in bond court Sunday, police said.

The teen's mugshot and name are being withheld because he is a minor, police said.
