RAVENSWOOD — Remember flowers, those colorful things that poke up from the ground?

It's been awhile since we've seen any around these parts, but Lillstreet Art Center, 4401 N. Ravenswood Ave., is abloom with its latest exhibit, "New Floral," which opens Friday in the main gallery and runs through March 1.

Artists from Lillstreet's textiles department explore the concept of the floral motif through the use of fiber arts such as embroidery, sewing, printmaking and dyes.

Join the artists at Friday's opening reception from 6-8 p.m.
