Blues Show to Rock City News Cafe

PORTAGE PARK — Two Portage Park residents who are also renowned Blues musicians will play a free show at City News Cafe.

Lurrie Bell and Rockin' Johnny Burgin will play their versions of Chicago Blues at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at City News Cafe, 4018 N. Cicero Ave.

Bell, the son of legendary blues harpist Carey Bell, traveled through Europe and regularly played packed clubs in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune has ranked him among the best blues guitarists in Chicago.

Burgin is known for his blistering performances at Smoke Daddy in Wicker Park and at the Chicago Blues Festival.
