HYDE PARK — Historian Timuel Black will lead a tour on Martin Luther King Jr.’s impact on Chicago on Saturday.
Black, who helped King organize marches in Chicago in the '60s, will talk about how the 1966 protests in Chicago were organized and how events in Chicago set in motion the formation of the Congress for Racial Equality.
The tour leaves at 1 p.m. from the corner of 59th Street and University Avenue.
The tour is $90. To register, email Bart Schultz of the Civic Knowledge Project at rshultz@uchicago.edu.
The tour is free for University of Chicago students and members of the Civic Knowledge Project.
