Man Found Dead in Belmont Cragin Port-a-Potty Froze to Death: Authorities

CHICAGO — Authorities said a man who was found in a port-a-potty in Belmont Cragin Wednesday afternoon died from cold exposure.

The man has been identified as Marek Bobak, 51, whose home address is unknown and may be homeless, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. 

Thursday's autopsy results revealed that Bobak died of heart disease and, secondly, hypothermia due to cold exposure. His death was ruled an accident, according to the morgue.

Police found Bobak in a port-a-potty in the 2900 block of North Central Avenue around 2 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m., according to the morgue.

Police are conducting a death investigation.
