CHICAGO — A man was fatally struck by a CTA Red Line Train at the Argyle stop in Uptown early Sunday, authorities said.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the Argyle Red Line stop at 1118 W. Argyle St., according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

A man, whose age was unknown by police, fell onto the train tracks and was struck by a train, Pacheco said. Red Line trains were stalled while crews responded to the scene; service is operating normally now.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Quinton Davis, 31, of the 3100 block of North Pine Grove Avenue.

According to the autopsy report, Davis died from multiple injuries sustained after being struck by the train. The medical examiner's office said his fall from the platform was due to "alcohol toxicity." His death was ruled an accident.
