CHICAGO — A man the FBI said has robbed two banks since last month was arrested Saturday trying to rob a third, the agency said.
The man was arrested about 1:50 p.m. Saturday trying to rob the TCF Bank at 1210 N. Clark St.
He is suspected of also robbing the North Community Bank, 2 W. Elm St., on Wednesday, and the Bank of America, 515 N. La Salle St., on Dec. 19.
Police said the man entered the bank and passed a teller a note demanding cash. But he left without any money.
Police officers apprehended him soon after, and transferred him to federal custody, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a police spokeswoman.
The suspect's name was not released.
