CHICAGO — Five people were killed and at least 20 were wounded in shootings over the weekend, including a 56-year-old woman who was shot in Washington Heights Sunday night.
Around 7:30 p.m., the 56-year-old woman was shot multiple times while sitting in a car in the 9200 block of South Throop Street, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition, Sedevic said.
Around 1 p.m. Sunday, a 22-year-old man was shot in South Shore.
Sunday afternoon, two men were fatally shot and another was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Back of the Yards.
From Saturday into Sunday, one person was killed and eight people were wounded in shootings.
From Friday into Saturday, a man was killed in West Ridge and nine people were wounded in shootings. A man wounded in a shooting in South Shore later died.
