HYDE PARK — University of Chicago representatives will be at the Jan. 12 Jackson Park Advisory Council meeting to talk about the Barack Obama presidential library.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Jackson Park field house, 6401 S. Stony Island Ave.

Representatives from the university are scheduled to talk about including an area near the intersection of 63rd Street and Stony Island Avenue as one of three options in its Dec. 11 bid for the library.

Parks advocates believe the university is most interested in a section of Jackson Park north of Hayes Drive that is home to several baseball diamonds and a playground.

The council will also discuss the $8.1 million restoration project in the park by the Army Corps of Engineers and elect new board members.

The council meets every month on the second Monday of the month.
