CHICAGO — Police on Wednesday evening found a man and a woman dead in a Grand Crossing residence, a result of what they believe may have been a murder-suicide.

Around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, police found a 28-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman dead in a residence in the 7000 block of South Ingleside Avenue, according to Chicago Police Sgt. Bob Kane, citing preliminary information.

Police believe the incident may have been a domestic-related murder-suicide.

The woman was identified as Yvonne Augustus, 47, of the same block, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. She was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:59 p.m., and died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Kane said the incident has not been classified as a homicide, but as a death investigation. The Medical Examiner's Office classified Augustus' death as a homicide.

A 28-year-old man, identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as Ezra Walton, also of the same block, died of an apparent suicide by asphyxiation, authorities said.

Authorities had no information about what led to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, Kane said.
