EDGEBROOK — If you need a little Christmas, right this very minute, a trolley tour Friday of Northwest Side homes tricked out for the holiday will be just the ticket.

Edgebrook-based North Branch Arts' Jolly Trolley will tour homes in Wildwood, Sauganash and Edgebrook decorated with enough lights to set the December sky ablaze.

Organizer Laura Perry said she got the idea to organize the trolley tour when she realized adults driving their kids to see Christmas lights don't really get to take in the sights.

"I thought, wouldn't it be nice if someone could drive me around," Perry said. "I love trolley tours, so it was a match made in heaven."

The adults-only tour will start at 7 p.m. at North Branch Arts, 5421 W. Devon Ave., where refreshments will be served and the trolley will depart at 7:30 p.m. for the two-hour tour.

The tour is also designed to raise money for North Branch Arts, which offers classes and workshops in multidisciplinary art, literature, music, creative writing, gardening, test prep and financial literacy.

"We try to make art a part of people's lives," Perry said, adding that she hopes the tour becomes an annual tradition. "Art can take so many forms, and Christmas lights are a form of everyday art by everyday people."

Tickets are $35. For more information, go to northbrancharts.org or email northbrancharts@gmail.com.
