NORTH CENTER — The holiday shopping season is in full swing and for those still searching for the perfect gifts for friends and family, the Chicago Art Girls weekend pop-up shop has plenty of unique handmade options.
More than 40 artists are participating in the market, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Bell Elementary, 3730 N. Oakley Ave.
Items for sale range from jewelry to prints and ceramics to knitwear.
The Art Girls are also collecting donations for Common Pantry at the pop-up. For every dollar or canned good a person donates, they'll earn a chance to win a VIP shopping card, which entitles the bearer to special deals and discounts all weekend.
Chicago Art Girls formed more than 10 years ago as a way for independent female artists to exchange ideas. The group now hosts several annual pop-up shops aimed at promoting the sale of local, handmade goods. Members all live and work in the Chicago area.
