Boy and Girl, Both 15, Among Five People Wounded by Gunfire Tuesday Morning

CHICAGO — At least five people were wounded in separate shootings across the city Tuesday morning, including two 15-year-olds shot near a bus stop on the Near West Side and a man near Truman College in Uptown.

• Most recently, a 24-year-old man was shot in the 10400 block of South Wabash Avenue in Roseland.

Around 10:40 a.m., someone shot the man in his stomach, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman. 

The shooter then drove off in a white car, Estrada said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.

• About 40 minutes earlier, a man, whose age is unknown, was shot near Truman College in Uptown.

• A few minutes before 10 a.m., a boy and a girl, both 15, were shot near a bus stop on the Near West Side.

• At 8:23 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in his legs in the 7100 block of South Cyril Court in South Shore, according to police. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said.

Police recovered a gun from the scene, and took two people into custody, Estrada said. 

An investigation is ongoing.
