CHICAGO — Boys in sixth, seventh and eighth grades are invited to mingle, eat lunch and listen to speakers at an event at a Woodlawn church Saturday.

The event, which is put on by ministry 180Chicago and hosted by Pastor Corey Brooks, will be held at New Beginnings Church of Chicago, 6620 S. King Drive Ave., from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

It was designed to give boys "a vision for how to become the great men God intended," according to the event details.

"We unapologetically use God's word as our playbook. We'll discover God's power, how to walk in truth, and celebrate that God uniquely designed each of us for a special purpose."

At the event, there will be a catered lunch, power talks and a performance by the 180 band, according to a news release. Middle school-aged boys will get the chance to make new friends and win door prizes, the release said.

Christian radio host Karl Clauson is the scheduled speaker.

Registration is free. Call the church at 773-326-4200 with any questions.
