Synthetic Ice Rink Coming to Loyola Station Plaza for 'Polar Palooza' Fest

ROGERS PARK — A new outdoor festival — dubbed "Polar Palooza" — is coming to the Loyola Station Plaza.

A synthetic ice skating rink, food and drink vendors and music artists are part of the inaugural festival, according to Star Events, which is producing it. The festival is sponsored by BMO Harris Bank, Loyola University, Rogers Park Business Alliance and the Sheridan Road Special Service Area.

The free festival is planned for Saturday and Sunday and is expected to attract 10,000 people, according to Star Events.

The event will also feature a Christmas tree lot, vendor booths and food and drink from neighborhood restaurants, including R Public House, Mayne Stage and the Heartland Cafe.

Mulled wine and spiced cider will also be served.

Crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, stilt walkers and costumed characters are also part of the plan.

Ear Candy: 6-7:30 p.m.

Blue Shag: 4-5:30 p.m.

Lost at Land: 2-3:30 p.m.

Ryan Westwood Guitar: Noon-1:30 p.m.

Sunday

T-Byrdz: 7-9 p.m.

Urban Rhythm: 5-6:30 p.m.

Joyce Renee & the JK Connection: 3-4:30 p.m.

Cheryl and The Dynamics: 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Grace Affie: Noon-1 p.m.
