RAVENSWOOD MANOR — Police have issued a community alert in Ravenswood Manor and Lakeview following three robberies involving food delivery drivers.

The most recent incident occurred Tuesday evening, at 8:09 p.m. in the 2700 block of North Richmond Street, police said. The previous incidents occurred Sunday evening, the first at 6 p.m. in the 4400 block of North Mozart Avenue and the second at 6:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Byron Street.

In each case, the driver was approached by two men while making a delivery, threatened with a handgun, knocked to the ground and robbed of money and other valuables.

The offenders were described as black males, 25-30 years old, wearing black or gray hooded sweatshirts. One is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. Another is approximately 6 feet with a goatee.

According to police, the food orders do not appear to have been placed by the offenders.

Delivery drivers are being urged to call 911 if they see anyone suspicious loitering near a delivery location or if they notice their car is being followed in traffic.

Anyone with information about the robberies should contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
