LINCOLN SQUARE — They say no one wants to see how sausages are made, but cupcakes? Yes, please.

Flirty Cupcakes is offering a series of baking classes this month aimed at turning the home cook into a pastry-making pro, just in time to impress for the holidays.

Up first: Cookies. Learn the decorating tricks of the trade used to transform a plain old cookie into an edible work of art. Cost is $20, which includes a beverage and four cookies. 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., Saturday.

Next up: Pie. This hands-on class will cover the fundamentals of how to make the perfect crust and filling, and then assemble a beautiful pie. Cost is $50. Participants will leave with a 5½-inch pie as well as a mini-streusel pie. Adults only. 7-8:45 p.m., Nov. 20.

Last but not least: Cupcakes. Attendees will try their hand at decorating cupcakes using four different techniques. Cost is $20, including four cupcakes to take home (assuming the treats make it that far). 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Nov. 22.

All classes will be held at Flirty Cupcakes Lincoln Square shop, 4631 N. Lincoln Ave., and will be taught by either owner Tiffany Kurtz or one of the bakery's pastry chefs.

Preregistration is required, either by calling 312-852-4441 or emailing flirtycupcakes@gmail.com.
