'Batman v. Superman' Filming Causes Loop Street Closures

CHICAGO — Fans of superheroes and celebrities, get excited.

Production crews will be filming "Batman vs. Superman" in The Loop this weekend.

But don't get too excited: some streets will be closed as a result, according to director of the Chicago Film Office Rich Moskal.

The movie, which is set to come out in 2016, features Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Henry Cavill as Superman. There's no word on which stars, if any, will be in town this weekend.

From 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, Clark Street will be fully closed between Monroe and Jackson Streets and Adams Street will be fully closed between Clark and Dearborn Streets.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jackson Street will be intermittently closed between Wells and Clark Streets; Clark Street will be intermittently closed between Jackson and Monroe Streets; LaSalle Street will be intermittently closed between Jackson and Monroe Streets. Helicopter aerial filming will also occur intermittently 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, there will also be helicopter aerial filming near Navy Pier and the lakefront.
