
HYDE PARK — Police are searching for a group of four men, one possibly as young as 12, involved in five armed robberies in Kenwood in the last two weeks.
Wentworth District police said officers are searching for a group of four black men who have pulled a gun on people at least five times since Oct. 18 and often demanded money or attacked the person.
The four most recent attacks have been between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on a Monday or Tuesday and involved a group with one boy possibly as young as 12, a man possibly as old as 24 and another man described as heavyset. There was no description available for the possible fourth member of the group.
According to police, the robberies have all occurred within a small area from 44th to 48th streets and Ellis to Dorchester avenues. An Oct. 20 robbery happened in front of King College Prep and an Oct. 28 robbery happened outside Blackstone Public Library.
Police said there have been no arrests made yet in connection with the robberies.
The incidents include armed robbery or attempted armed robbery at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the 4700 block of South Ellis Avenue; 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 900 block of East 44th St.; 5:10 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 1100 block of East 48th Street; 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 4600 block of South Ellis Avenue; and 5:10 p.m. Oct. 28 in the 4800 block of South Dorchester Avenue.
