Evanston Man Found Stabbed to Death in South Shore

CHICAGO — Police found a 46-year-old Evanston man stabbed to death in South Shore early Monday.

Around 12:19 a.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired in the area found the man on the sidewalk in the 3000 block of East Cheltenham Place with a gunshot wound in his chest, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.

The man was identified as Andrew Brown of Evanston. He was pronounced dead at 12:49 a.m, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. According to autopsy results, Brown died from multiple stab wounds.

The morgue said the man was 46 years old.
