CHICAGO — The futuristic designs for Chicago's Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the planned attraction that will feature artwork and other artifacts from filmmaker George Lucas, were released Monday.

Designed by Beijing-based architect Ma Yansong, the museum features a "floating" disc atop a mountainlike building that will house an observation desk.

The "Star Wars" creator announced plans to bring his museum here earlier this year.

The release of the renderings followed news in July that a bridge linking the museum to Northerly Island would be designed by Chicago's own Jeanne Gang.
