IRVING PARK — You know what's really spooky? How few haunted houses there are on the North Side.

We scared up a handful of options for people looking for a frighteningly good time.

With apologies to Led Zeppelin, there's a lady who's sure all that glitters are ghosts, and she's buying a
Stairway to Insanity. St. Viator's haunted house runs 7-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Cost is $8 per person. Warning: Not intended for young children. 3644 N. Kedvale Ave.

The Dream Theatre Company's "Audience Annihilated 2" is one part haunted house, one part horror show. The immersive experience allows audience members to choose between participating in the 15-minute play or watching the nightmare unfold. Shows run Friday through Sunday; tickets are $18. 5026 N. Lincoln Ave.

Catch the final performance of St. Benedict's Fright Walk, 3-10 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $8 per person and can be bought in advance online. 2215 W. Irving Park Road

Students at Amundsen High School have transformed the building's hallways into a Haunted Asylum, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Be prepared for strobe lighting and smoke; not for children under 8. Cost is a suggested donation of $5, with proceeds benefiting the school's Theater Club. 5110 N. Damen Ave., Door 5.

Roosevelt High School's Haunted House offers plenty of bang for your buck — unlimited entries for just $2 per person. Get your thrill on 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday. 3436 W. Wilson Ave.

And of course there's always Navy Pier, which is terrifying enough on its own but especially so when zombies are running amok. The Fear Haunted House has a "low scare" option with the lights on during daytime hours. Tickets are $12-$25. 600 E. Grand Ave.
