WEST ROGERS PARK — Two political newcomers will try to unseat one-term incumbent Ald. Debra Silverstein (50th) in February. 

Financial consultant Shajan Kuriakose has family roots in the Indian community on Devon Avenue.

Peter Sifnotis, a Marine for eight years, grew up in suburban Elk Grove Village and has lived in the neighborhood since 2009.
