COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A woman involved in a car accident was carjacked by a teenager who jumped out of the other vehicle and drove away in her Toyota Highlander Thursday, prosecutors said.

Cody Llanas, 15, was spotted by cops at a gas station at 2800 W. Lawrence Ave. in the stolen Highlander shortly after he and two unknown accomplices carjacked the woman in Albany Park, Assistant State's Attorney Lashunda Cooperwood said.

The woman, 36, was driving northbound on Albany Avenue toward Lawrence at 4 a.m. Thursday when a black car came out of an alley and crashed into her vehicle, prosecutors said.

Leaving her car running, the woman got out, prosecutors said. Llanas and one of his accomplices got out of their car and one of them demanded money for the damages.

The woman said she was calling police, and the unknown co-offender got a baseball bat from the black car, threatening to his her car with it, prosecutors said.

When the woman said again that she was going to call cops, Llanas allegedly pulled a gun, pointing it at her.

He told her to get out of the way, jumped in her car and drove away, prosecutors said.

Llanas, who has been arrested multiple times for unauthorized use of a weapon, was charged as an adult with vehicular hijacking and ordered held on $300,000 bail Friday, when he appeared before a judge.
