HYDE PARK — The lithe dancers of Ron De Jesus Dance will perform a preview of the forthcoming ballet “Osiris and Isis” among the monoliths at the Oriental Institute on Friday.

Dancers will enact a new retelling of the ancient Egyptian romance between the god Osiris and his wife between the museum’s preserved palace walls of King Sargon II of Assyria at 7 p.m.

Clarinetist James Falzone will accompany the dancers live with his original compositions for the ballet, which will premiere in fall 2015 at the University of Chicago.

Tickets are $30, or $15 for students, seniors and museum members, and are available online here.

Professor of Egyptology Robert Ritner will open the performance with a free talk at 5:30 p.m. about the enduring appeal of Egyptian myth in a lecture titled “A Game of Thrones and Coffins: The Death and Resurrection of Osiris.”

A reception will follow the performance.
