LAKEVIEW — Some people run for bacon. Some run for pie. For others, free beer will do the trick.

About 120 people have signed up for Saturday's DMK Sorta Marathon — a 3.7-mile race from DMK Burger Bar, 2945 N. Sheffield Ave., to Henry's Swing Club, 18 W. Hubbard St. Both places are owned by David Morton and chef Michael Kornick.

The winner gets a year's worth of beer — that is, unlimited draft beer once a week for a year — at Henry's. The prize for second place is a cocktail and sliders fete for 10 people. The third-place finisher wins a margarita and nachos party for 10.

You could say everyone's a winner. Draft beer is on the house at Henry's for all participants, from when they arrive at the bar until 7 p.m.

The race begins at 3 p.m. It's up to runners to figure out their route.

Registration is at http://dmkmarathon.bpt.me. There is a $10 fee, and space is limited to 250 people.
