CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man who groped a woman who was pushing a stroller on a Northwest Side trail Wednesday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., a woman was walking eastbound in the 4300 block of West Peterson Avenue on the Sauganash Trail when a man walked up behind her and slapped her buttocks, according to a police alert.

Moments later, the man ran away. But as the woman was walking westbound, the man reappeared, which is when he fondled her genitals and breasts, according to the alert.

Shortly after, witnesses told police they saw a naked man running along an elevated jogging path.

The man is described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern, between 30 and 40 years old, 5-foot-6, 160-170 pounds with black curly hair and an olive complexion.

He was last seen wearing a hooded gray jacket and grey sweatpants.

Police are encouraging people not to travel alone and to stay in well-lit areas. Those who witness crimes should call 911 and provide as many details as possible.

Ald. Margaret Laurino (39th) said she met recently with the Sauganash Trail Committee, who approved her suggestion to add a camera at the end of the trail at Kostner Avenue and Bryn Mawr Avenue.
