South Shore Shooting Kills Man Early Thursday

CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was killed in South Shore early Thursday.

Around 3:25 a.m., the 25-year old man was fatally shot in his chest while he was in the 7800 block of South Jeffery Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as Raymond Murray, of the 7700 block of South Jeffery Avenue.

No one was in custody for the shooting, Sedevic said.
