LINCOLN SQUARE — Nothing like ghosts nipping at your heels to ensure a personal 5K best.

Run, or walk, for your life during the third annual Rosehill Cemetery Crypt 5K, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday at 5800 N. Ravenswood Ave.

Lit by LED lights, the course will snake its way through Rosehill's 350 acres, taking runners past sights both scenic and ghoulish. Finishers will be greeted by the sounds of the post-race band, Late Night Lunatics.

Online registration is open through noon Wednesday. Cost is $35 for a chip-timed run, $30 for a non-timed fun run/walk. Race day registration fees are $40 for the timed run, $35 for the fun run/walk.

Fireside Restaurant, 5739 N. Ravenswood Ave., is hosting a post-race party, offering a free Lagunitas beer or pop to participants who show their bib number.

Proceeds from the race benefit the American Diabetes Association.
