HYDE PARK — Former presidential candidate Howard Dean will explain how liberal became a dirty word at a Thursday event at the Quadrangle Club.

Dean, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former governor of Vermont, will talk about the future of the progressive movement on the eve of the midterm elections at 6 p.m. at the Quadrangle Club, 1155 E. 57th St., on the University of Chicago campus.

Roger Simon, a columnist at Politico and a former fellow at the university’s Institute of Politics, will lead the discussion.

The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Seats can be reserved here.
