CHICAGO — A man shot and critically injured in a West Town shooting Saturday morning has died, authorities said.
Around 4:10 a.m., the man, 19, told police he was in a car when someone shot him in his chest in the 1300 block of West Chicago Avenue, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.
He was taken critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he later died, Sedevic said.
He was identified as Christopher Guardarrama; authorities did not know his home address.
Police said the man is a documented gang member.
No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
