NORTH CENTER — Is cheese the new pretzel?
The folks at Begyle Brewing and Provenance Food and Wine will make the case for fromage as a partner for IPAs, stouts and all manner of brews at a beer and cheese pairing event, to be held in Begyle's newly expanded tasting room at 1800 W. Cuyler Ave from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Provenance cheesemonger Nicole Benjamin has selected a variety of cheeses for participants to sample and will discuss the characteristics of each, offering up a variety of potential beer-cheese matchups.
Begyle founders will also be on hand to talk about what goes into the making of their brews.
Tickets for the tasting event are $40 and can be purchased online.
