GRAND CROSSING — The Gary Comer Youth Center, a nonprofit that provides programs for inner-city youths, will benefit from a rooftop dinner at its South Side center.
A Mexican dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Gary Comer Youth Center, 7200 S. Ingleside Ave. The dinner will include vegetables grown at the center's 1.75-acre rooftop urban garden and maintained by youths, who will assist as servers for the event.
Dinner will be prepared by culinary students from the youth center and Diana Davila, a chef at the Cantina de la Granja restaurant in Andersonville, set to open early next year.
Space is limited and youth center officials said tickets, which are $100, are only available online.
