LINCOLN SQUARE — Siri can't help you now.

The Book Cellar's annual Adult Spelling Bee is strictly an old-school, no-electronic-assistance-allowed challenge of the human brain vs. the English dictionary.

Patty Wetli is still smarting after losing a spelling bee in elementary school. Listen to see if you spell the word she lost on:

The contest is set for 7 p.m., Sept. 4, 4736-38 N. Lincoln Ave. Those interested in competing should email words@bookcellarinc.com or call 773-293-2665 to enter.

The bee also makes for a wildly entertaining spectator sport — note, the Book Cellar has a liquor license — featuring a celebrity host (comedian Kelsie Huff has done the honors in the past) and judges.

Past participants have been felled by words such as "fricassee" and "mellifluous," neither of which stumped this reporter's auto correct. C'mon people, don't let the machines win.
