ENGLEWOOD — A 19-year-old man died early Wednesday morning after he was shot through a window of his Englewood home Tuesday evening, authorities said.
About 7:15 p.m., the teen was standing near a window inside a home in the 5700 block of South Marshfield Avenue when a gunman fired shots from outside, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.
The teen was hit in his head and was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead there at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. His death was declared a homicide by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Officials there identified him as Antonio Goode and said he lived in the same home where he was shot.
Authorities said Goode was a documented gang member and believe he was the target of the shooting.
