ROSCOE VILLAGE — The cuteness factor is going to be off the charts in Roscoe Village on Sunday during PAWS Chicago's Angels With Tails event.

Three dozen neighborhood businesses will be hosting various animal shelters, noon to 4 p.m., with nearly 100 puppies, kittens, dogs and cats available for adoption on site.

Earlier this year, 56 pets were adopted during an Angels With Tails event in Lincoln Square, and 65 were adopted during a Gold Coast event, according to PAWS spokeswoman Sarah Ahlberg.

"It's great to meet people where they live," Ahlberg said.

"Angels With Tails is also a terrific opportunity for us to partner with other shelters and rescue groups, help them find homes for their pets and raise greater public awareness around euthanasia," she said.

In addition to PAWS, several other animal shelters and rescue organizations will be stationed at various shops on Roscoe Street, either providing information about their services or featuring adoptable pets.

Greyhounds Only, for example, can be found at Spex, 2154 W. Roscoe St.; Hubba-Hubba, 2040 W. Roscoe St., is hosting Orphans of the Storm; and Glam to Go, 2002 W. Roscoe St., will have info on Chicagoland Eskie Rescue, which specializes in finding homes for abandoned American Eskimo dogs.

General guidelines for those considering adopting via PAWS: You must be at least 21 years old, verify that your condo/apartment building allows your particular choice of pet, and have at least an hour to spend with an adoption counselor.

PAWS' adoption fees vary; costs can range up to $275 for a puppy and $100 for a kitten or young cat.
