LOGAN SQUARE — Learnapalooza, the hands-on creative "teach-in," will set up its day-long workshop fest in Logan Square Saturday, but registration for the free classes is filling up quickly.

Learnapalooza has featured “a variety of workshops where people can learn something new, teach something they’re passionate about and meet their neighbors” since 2009, according to organizers. The event is sponsored by six Logan Square cultural and arts organizations that have volunteered to host courses in their buildings.

Last year, three Learnapalooza festivals saw nearly 600 people attend classes across 23 venues, and a Logan Square drew more than 300 curious people alone.

Classes like “Flirt in Spanish,” “Animal Origami,” “Euro Board Game Design,” “I Suck at Budgeting,” “Boost Your Money Mojo,” "Play Better Chess" and “Content Strategy/Blogging” will be offered Saturday at these neighborhood locations:

• City Lit Books, 2523 N. Kedzie Blvd.
• Beauty and Brawn, 3501 W. Fullerton Ave.
• I am Logan Square, 2644½ N. Milwaukee Ave.
• Logan Theater, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave.
• Logan Square Library, 3030 W. Fullerton Ave.
• Multilingual Chicago, 2518 W. Armitage Ave.
• AnySquared Projects (2328 N Milwaukee Ave)

Residents, artists, and business owners are invited to share their knowledge and skills by leading free workshops during the festival, according to organizers. A full list and schedule for offered courses can be found here, though 11 of the 38 classes had sold out as of Wednesday morning.

The fest will be followed by an official after-party where attendees can learn swing dancing — also for free.
