OLD TOWN — Hundreds of people flocked to the 59th annual Ginza Festival this weekend to celebrate all things Japanese culture.
This year's event was held at Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 W. Menomonee St.
On Sunday, festival-goers bought handmade crafts from Japanese artists, watched traditional musical acts and munched on everything from chicken teriyaki to udon noodles all underneath a string of paper lanterns.
Bibi Ishikawa was one of many vendors who sold artisan goods at this year's Ginza Festival. She uses old kimonos with intricate embroidery to create miniature items, according to the festival guide.
Na Kupuna Ukulele Group performed in front of a crowd on Sunday at Ginza Festival.
