Woman's Body Pulled From Water Near Promontory Point, Police Say

HYDE PARK — A 75-year-old woman's body was pulled from Lake Michigan in Hyde Park Monday afternoon, police said.

Emergency responders pulled the woman's body from the water in the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive near Promontory Point, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a police spokeswoman.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:52 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Officials there identified the woman as Soufija Pastuovich, of the 5400 block of South East View Park.

The cause of death may possibly be self-inflicted harm, according to the morgue..

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
