CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man who tried to lure the same girl twice in late July in North Center's Hamlin Park.

On July 25, a 9-year-old girl was walking with another girl about 7:20 p.m. when she was approached from behind by a man inside the Hamlin Park fieldhouse, according to a police community alert.

The man placed his hand on her shoulder, trying to turn her around and make her walk in a different direction. The girl's friend grabbed her by the hand and ran inside the fieldhouse with her.

The next morning at 10 a.m., the girl was in the park with her family when the same man approached and greeted her. The girl's mother asked her daughter if it was the same man as the evening before, at which point the man ran away.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s, 6-foot to 6-foot-4 tall with long gray hair slicked back in a mullet-type style. He also had a mustache.

He was wearing a baseball hat, Hawaiian shirt, long khaki shorts and tan-colored boat shoes at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information should call police at 312-744-8200.
